HOW NOT TO APPLY MAKE UP & SCARE SOMEONE SILLY!
Tonight I've decided to tell you all a story. Don't worry, it's still about make up but it's just an experience I had with make up that I think you might find mildly amusing. When I was in uni I was really into my punk look...pink hair, and bright bright make up was usually the order of the day, but I was also very fond of glitter. At the time I didn't know anything about the wonders of Mac's

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST MAKE UP PRODUCT?
For some reason I was pondering this today.I remember my first mascara came free with a magazine. Brand New - Dove HairMinimising Deodorant

Dove has just launched the first ever hair minimising anti-perspirant deodorant, Dove HairMinimising is a brand new range of antiperspirants that not only cares for delicate underarm skin around the clock, but also helps you have underarms that look and feel hair-free for longer between shaves - what more could a girl ask for in her deodorant!.
Contained in the anti-perspirant is a unique hair minimising formula that contains the brand new Pro-Epil complex, with natural extracts & combined with with Dove ¼ moisturising cream it is gentle on the skin. With everyday use hair will start to seem less noticeable, your underarms will feel and look smoother and hair will feel softer, finer and easier to remove.
Like all Dove products, Dove HairMinimising nourishes and cares for delicate the skin on your underarms as well as providing 24-hour antiperspirant protection.
After using the product for the last week I have been delighted with the results so far & it will be a firm fixture in bathroom cabinet from now on! Firstly the scent is really fresh & subtle which doesn't over power your perfume which is always important, also it doesn't leave a white residue either which is an added bonus, I found that none of my clothes had any deodorant marks on them at all, plus it really does feel very gentle on the skin, no stinging at all once applied. Anyway most importantly does it reduce under arm hair growth?? Well I have definitely noticed a visible improvement with the hair finer & definitely easier to remove, with it growing back a lot slower than before, no prickles the following day!.. As I have dark hair this is a god send & having to shave your underarms each day or every other day can start to really harm the skin there so this genius deodorant will certainly be a saviour in the summer!!!
Available Nationwide from this Month.

Skinfood Launches Fresh New Skincare
Over the last few weeks I have been putting a new skincare brand from New Zealand that is now available in the UK to the test, it is a natural & green product which is also unisex, the products are also all free from & free from artificial colours, perfumes or paraben preservatives making them suitable for sensitive skins too.

All the products are enriched with pure ingrediants from New Zealand such as Manuka Honey to soothe & heal, Avocodo Oil which is a rich antioxidant, Aloe Vera to hydrate, Organge Oil to rejuvenate & revitialise & Lavender to balance the complexion & stimulate regeneration, they are also formulated Coconut Palm that is rich in Vitamins A & E to give excellent protection & nourishment to the skin.
The full range includes an Exfoliator to a Cleanser, Mud Mask & three fantastic Moisturisers as well as Shave Gel too.

Firstly the 'Cleans All' is a light gentle wash for the skin which is tough on make-up at the same time (!!), just wet your face & apply a little cleanser & massage into the skin then wash off with warm water, it is also gentle enough to use as an eye make-up remover too, I found that only one wash was required to remove my make-up & then a little on some cotton wool to remove any eye make-up, my skin felt really soft afterwards unlike other face washes that can leave your skin feeling tight or dry. Their 'Exfoliating Scrub' is used once a week to gently polish the skin & brighten the complexion by removing dead skin cells, it also contains Tea Tree to heal as well & as with the cleanser it doesn't leave the skin feeling dry but instantly softer instead.
The 'Light Moistuiser' is probably best suited to those with an oily skin, non-greasy it absorbs instantly into the skin without leaving any residue, it also leaves a light matt finish on the skin & is great for men who don't want a heavy perfumed moisturiser but for us girls it is great for using as a base to make-up! Another light moistuiser is the SPF15 Moisturiser which protects the skin against sun damage obviously so helps promote a youthful complexion & with SPF being the only proven anti-ageing ingrediant it's as good as any anti-ageing cream!
The Nourishing Moisturiser is great for those with dry skins but I found it works really well as a night cream, it is very think in consistancy & creates a barrier to lock in moisture, the avocado & sunflower oils help repair the skin while you sleep & balance the complexion. The 'Mud Mask' is a great weekly treat for the skin & is made with New Zealand's famous mud from Rotura (known worldwide for it's amazing healing qualities), only left on for 10mins it draws out impurities in the skin leaving it cleansed & feeling soft as well as reducing pore size - even only after one use! Finally is the 'Shave Gel', again a unisex product, it protects & heals the skin to counteract the drying effects of shaving, I found my legs felt great afterwards as the skin can feel pretty dry & sore afterwards at times meaning I have to apply a lot of lotion, but no need this time!
All in all this is an excellent range that is natural & great for all skin types, it's also inexpensive, each item costing only £4.99, available nationwide at Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose & Online at Amazon.

Aveeno - Best Product for Dry Skins

Great news for all dry skin sufferers, the new Aveeno Skincare range uses naturally active ingrediants to gently nourish & moisturise the skin back to health in just 24 hours!
Using ingrediants such as Oats which have been valued for their skin care throughout history, even dating back to the ancient Greeks & Romans, some of the many benefits of oats include moisturisation, cleansing & soothing any itchiness caused by dry skin. Aveeno contains naturally active colloidal oatmeal which leaves a protective barrier on the skin to lock in moisture as well as relieve & improve the look & feel of dry skin. Another natural ingrediant in Aveeno is Shea Butter which is rich in vitamins & nutrients and has many emollient, soothing & hydrating properties as well as being an excellent antioxidant for the skin.
Aveeno includes an Intensive Dry Range, a Moisturing Range as well as a Cleansing Range, one of the most popular from the moistursing range is the Daily Moisturing Lotion which contains the collodial oatmeal, after using the lotion I noticed that unlike many other intense moisturisers it is easily aborbed into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, afterwards my skin felt incredibly smooth & soft as I could almost feel the protective barrier that is created to lock in moisture, giving me baby soft skin! Also available is the 'Aveeno Cream' which is an excellent intense moisture surge for the skin within the intensive range, it is best suited for those with very dry & sensitive skins as well as those prone to eczema, also within this range is the Bath Oil & Body Lotion as well as Colloidal Bath Powder which will gently cleanse & moisturise the skin, excellent for very sensitive skin. Body & Hand Washes have also been formulated all with the same enriched qualities & great for dry/sensitive skin. This product range can be enjoyed by alll skin types especially seeing as everybody suffers from dry skin at one time or another & it is always a great idea to protect the skin, but for sensitive & dry skins this fantastic mild & natural product is a god send! Available at Boots Nationwide

Garnier Vital Restore - Perfect Mothers Day Gift!

Garnier's new Vital Restore Range for Mature skin is a perfect gift idea for Mums this Mothers Day & with the added beauty of Orchid extract all wrapped up in a perfect little tub where is the need for flowers! Orchids are not only known for their flawless perfection but they have a very long lifespan, inspired by this Garnier's skin experts chose to enrich their new range for Mature Skin with the extract.
Vital Restore is an over all anti-ageing range & with the Orchid Extract it helps to restore & revitialise mature skin, as we know after a certain age the skin will loose it's elasticity & firmness but with the Orchid Extract & Soy Bioprotiens the cream can rehydrate & reinforce the feel of he skin's structure, diminsh age spots & combat the effects of collagen & elastin deteriotation.
The range includes 4 products 'Complete Revitalising Cream SPF15 Day & Night' to hydrate & reinforce the skins structure as well as protect against age spots, as with all Garnier creams it has a fresh as well as velvet feel on the skin which is easily absorbed leaving the skin feeling instantly softer. The 'Vital Restore Beauty Serum' illuminates the skin & used underneath your daily moisturiser it revitalises & evens out skin tone plus stimulates cell activity. The fourth item in the range is 'Eye Complete Revitalising Cream' which will visibly reduce bags & dark circles. Using the full range together obviously will maximise the effects & leave the skin feeling firmer brighter as well as more youthful looking - defintely the best present a Mum could ask for next Sunday!

New from Lancome - Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate

Lancome have just launched their new anti-ageing product 'Genifique - Youth Activating Concentrate', as it implies in the name it works at the origin of your skin's youth, your genes produce specific proteins responsible for the cells structure & these diminsh with age however 'Genifique' kick starts this process & stimulates their activity. It is not about turning back the clocks as such but about encouraging the skin cell renewell as an "activator" & is aimed at women even in their twenties to protect against the signs of ageing as well as women in their fifties & sixties. It is easy to use & is a non sticky formula that glides on to the skin & is absorbed quickly & easily, it is not a moisturiser so apply your normal product on top for best results. All that is needed is 3 small drops of the formula, so a little goes along way, apply to the face in an upward motion with the fingers avoiding the eye area. It gives the skin a soft velvet feel immediately after use & over time restores the texture & over all tone of the skin, Lancome describe it as 'putting a light on under the skin' it puts radiance back giving you a youthful glow to the complexion! After using this over the last few weeks I have to confess it has already starting working it's magic..!! My skin feels softer than it has for a long time & the over all tone is smoother with added radiance, a definite winner!
Available at all Lancome Counters Nationwide.
